Profile of Janice Dettman Hanamann to represent her scholarship.

Janice (Dettman) Hanamann

The Janice (Dettman) Hanamann Fund offers a one-time scholarship to a worthy graduating high school senior planning on furthering their education.

Words from Michael Hanamann

Janice (Dettman) Hannamann's Son

“I wanted to create a scholarship in her name as a way of showing her how much she has meant to me as a mother and how much I appreciate everything she has done for me over the years.  She has always supported me in good times and in bad, and if I ever needed anything I knew that she would always be there for me.  Being the youngest of four boys, I was and always will be her "baby" boy, and that is a title that I will always cherish.  Also, I wanted to create a scholarship so her legacy could continue on in the future by helping out kids who want to better themselves and make a positive impact on the world.”

Scholarship of $500

The award will be distributed upon proof of registration at a postsecondary institution.

Selected students will be asked to appear for a personal interview with the Algoma Area Education Foundation Inc. Scholarship Committee.
