Norma Marjorie Schmiling Mueller was born in Algoma, WI on 2/26/1922. She graduated from Algoma High School in 1938 and completed high school in 3 years. Her brother Mike made a bet with her about graduating in 3 instead of 4 years and she was determined to show that she could do it. The internal strength and persistence to accomplish goals stuck with her. She enjoyed her job at St. Paul's Lutheran School as a teacher's aide and was thrilled to know that her grandson was following in her footsteps to become a teacher. She believed in the value of an education, loyalty, hard work and above all being kind to everyone. She believed in the goodness of people. In her high school yearbook, her teachers wrote this about her, "Stay as Sweet as You Are". All who know her would say this was true for her entire life. She was much loved and will be missed.
